Underhill Screening
We are delighted to announce that Bring Barnet Back – in conjunction with Simon Emmett and Tony Kleanthous, are hosting a private screening of the critically acclaimed Underhill documentary at the Barnet Everyman Cinema on the afternoon of Sunday 14th July (3pm -5pm)
The film perfectly encapsulates the special relationship between the club and the local community. In addition to the private screening, there will be a Q&A with two legendary Barnet managers – Barry Fry and Paul Fairclough. Several members of the first-team squad and staff, including Dean Brennan and Tony Kleanthous will also be in attendance.
The purpose of the event is to generate support for the return home among key decision makers within the local community.
Tickets will be allocated to fans, and also to individuals and groups whose support is critical to the application’s success – including the Mayor, local councillors, members of the planning committee, and other politicians.
We anticipate fan demand for the limited tickets to be high and are therefore running a ballot system for tickets which will run as follows:
Depending on the success and demand for the event, we may be able offer a follow-up screening later on in the year.
As throughout the campaign so far, we will endeavour to be as transparent as possible about our approach - while also acknowledging our limitations as a volunteer team!
We have collated a series of FAQs below about the event, ballot and ticketing. If you have any other questions or queries, please don’t hesitate to let us know.

Q: How does the ballot work?
A: The ballot is open until midnight on Sunday 23rd June – with each individual able to register for 1 ticket only. Once the ballot closes, tickets will be allocated randomly. Each ballot entry will be allocated a number, and a random number generator will be used to allocate tickets. Individuals will then have 2 days to confirm their attendance before their tickets are released to those on the waiting list.
Q: Why are you running a ballot?
A: We expect demand to considerably outstrip supply for the event. First come, first serve ticketing can put those unable to access the ticketing at a specific time at an unfair advantage, and so a ballot is a fairer way of enabling a wider range of fans to have a chance of attending.
A: Planning permission for Barnet FC to return home will be assessed and granted by a small group of councillors. Prior to any formal application being submitted, we hope to showcase the immense value that the club can bring to the local community.
The Underhill documentary perfectly encapsulates this and so the event's purpose is to share this with influential voices whose support will be critical to the planning application's success, while also providing an enjoyable afternoon for fans and other associated with the club.
If you have any contacts with any media organisations who may be interested in covering the event, and/or any suggestions or contact details for individuals to invite, please contact info@bringbarnetback.com
Q: What is the purpose of the event?
Q: How much do the tickets cost?
A: Tickets are free. Bring Barnet Back is responsible for covering the cost of hiring the Everyman Cinema and, due to combination of rights restrictions for private screenings and Everyman policies, we cannot charge for the tickets.
However, in order to the cover the cost of the Everyman, we will be asking all attendees to purchase a £20 drinks token which can be partially redeemed on the day against a single drink.
This will enable us to cover some parts of the hire cost and minimum spend, without charging for the cost of entry. There will be a residual cost to Bring Barnet Back of hosting the event, but we believe it is an effective use of funds due to the positive impact the screening will have on key decision makers on the application.
